Climate in Calgary
Many people love Calgary for it's climate, which offers a true 4 seasons. The climate is dry all year round, with summer temperatures of 30°C or higher and winter temperatures only getting below -10°C for only a few weeks of the year, considered mild in comparison to much of the rest of Canada. With such close proximity to the Rockies and community ice rinks in most neighbourhoods, those cold temps just mean plenty of opportunities to enjoy your favorite winter sports.
Most of Calgary's rainfall comes in the form of snowfall, with very few gloomy rainy days. Summer temperatures often stretch into the fall, making for "Indian Summer" conditions in September and October. The climate in Calgary makes outdoor recreation enjoyable in all seasons.

Enjoy a lively and family friendly day at The Calgary Stampede, a 10 day annual event that honors the ranching and agricultural heritage of Calgary with special rodeo events and live performances, and of course delicious food.
Calgary Zoo is another must see, with special events throughout the year to celebrate changing seasons and a conservationist approach to animal care. Cost of Living in Calgary
Calgary has one of the best costs of living in Canada, in addition to a higher average salary than other Canadia cities. One of the major factors that makes Calgary more affordable is the low sales tax rate. There is no provincial sales tax in Alberta, so Calgary residents only pay the federal Goods & Services Tax.
Both gasoline and natural gas are lower than the Canadian average in Calgary, too. With a healthy job market, real estate opportunities to meet a variety of budgets, and lower costs for necessities, Calgary is one of the most affordable major cities in North America.
